Mrs. Calderon
Gayle Calderon is beginning her 26th year of teaching middle school band and her 11th year at Jefferson Middle School. Mrs. Calderon is a proud product of NISD having attending Oak Hills Terrace Elementary, Pat M. Neff Middle School, and John Marshall High School. She received her Bachelor of Music Education at the University of North Texas and her Masters in Child Development (with an thesis emphasis on adolescent brain development) at Texas Woman's University. Mrs. Calderon loves spending time with her family, her husband and 3 children, and gets her exercise as a hobby aerialist and assistant coach.
Ms. Laque
Ms. Laque is excited to be joining the Eagle Band Family this year as assistant director. She is an alumna of Texas Sate University, having graduated in the spring of 2023 with a bachelor's degree in Music Studies. Throughout college, Ms. Laque was a successful private lesson teacher and masterclass clinician for middle schools throughout the Austin area; with many of her students making the region band. Prior to joining the Jefferson team she gained valuable experience as a band director at Highlands High School. Ms. Laque is from Katy, Texas and her primary instrument is Tuba!
