Mrs. Calderon
Gayle Calderon is beginning her 27th year of teaching middle school band and her 12th year at Jefferson Middle School. Mrs. Calderon is a proud product of NISD having attending Oak Hills Terrace Elementary, Pat M. Neff Middle School, and John Marshall High School. She received her Bachelor of Music Education at the University of North Texas and her Masters in Child Development (with a thesis emphasis on adolescent brain development) at Texas Woman's University. Mrs. Calderon loves spending time with her family, her husband and 3 children, and gets her exercise as a hobby aerialist and aerial coach.
Ms. Laque
Ms. Laque is in her 2nd year as assistant director at Jefferson. She is an alumna of Texas Sate University, having graduated in the spring of 2023 with a bachelor's degree in Music Studies. Throughout college, Ms. Laque was a successful private lesson teacher and masterclass clinician for middle schools throughout the Austin area; with many of her students making the region band. Prior to joining the Jefferson team she gained valuable experience as a band director at Highlands High School. Ms. Laque is from Katy, Texas and her primary instrument is Tuba! Ms. Laque is engaged to a fellow NISD band director who hooks us up with 3D printed goodies!
